Skunks are nocturnal animals that are very common in Connecticut.
Most homeowners are oblivious to their presence, until they start to experience that typical skunk odor or find holes going underneath their houses, sheds, garages and patios.
Skunks aren’t strong climbers, which is why you find them in low places rather than in attics. If you have skunks denning underneath your house, it is pretty safe to assume that they are in the den during the day, and out foraging at night, which makes them pretty simple to capture.
By setting traps at the entrance to the den during the day, in a way that there is no way to exit the den without being forced through a cage trap, the nuisance skunks can be trapped and removed very quickly.
